Joint Land Use Study Approved for Grissom Air Reserve Base (ARB)

The US Office of Economic Adjustment (OEA) of the Department of Defense has approved a grant application for the completion of a Joint Land Use Study (JLUS) for Grissom ARB. The Miami County Economic Development Authority (MCEDA) was the grant applicant and will serve as the sponsor of the grant. The grant will be used to hire a consultant that will work with representatives from the counties surrounding Grissom ARB to complete the Study. The main purpose of the Study is to identify compatible uses and propose zoning restrictions outside the base that will prevent interference with the overall base operations, but allows for economic growth for the communities. The counties involved in the Study include Cass, Miami, Howard and Wabash. The Study will take approximately 12-18 months to complete.
